LTT Striker Control Device for Glock Handguns

Formerly developed by Tau Development Group, Langdon Tactical Technology, Inc. is now manufacturing the Striker Control Device.

What is the Striker Control Device?

The Striker Control Device (SCD) is a cover plate for your Glock pistol that blocks the rearward motion of the striker when thumb pressure is applied to the back of the slide – similar to a hammer on a DA/SA hammer fired pistol. It was originally developed by Tom Jones and Todd Louis Green from the inspiration of double action hammer fired pistols, where shooters are taught to keep their thumb on the hammer when holstering. Keeping your thumb on the back of the hammer gives you positive feedback should something be caught in the trigger guard to prevent the gun from firing.  The SCD does just that for the Glock striker fired pistols.

  • The SCD blocks movement of the trigger bar and prevents the trigger from moving.
  • The SCD does not lock or otherwise interfere with the normal operation of the pistol unless physical force is being purposely applied by the user. When using any normal firing grip (IE: hand is not on the back of the slide), the SCD is not engaged, acting as a traditional back plate.
  • Installation of the SCD requires you to remove the existing backplate and install the SCD.

The LTT SCD works with all of the Gen 5 Glock pistols (yes, this includes the Glock 20). Check out the installation video here.

The Slim Frame & Full Size SCD DO NOT fit or function with the Glock 42.

HAVE YOU SEEN THE GRIP ANCHOR? Add this to your cart for the Glock 19, too!

Please Note: The SCD will NOT function correctly with the Glock® Performance Trigger, as this OEM trigger option causes the striker to become fully tensioned, defeating the purpose/function of the SCD.

The roll pin that joins the two parts of the SCD is a wear item and we recommend replacing it every 8,000 rounds. Included in this package are two replacement roll pins for when maintenance is necessary

Delivery Times: If you are able to purchase, they are in stock. If not, please add your name to the wishlist to be notified when that size is in stock.

Disclaimer: The SCD does NOT replace safe gun handling. It creates an additional layer of safety and control by providing feedback to a shooter should something get inside the trigger guard that should not be. The SCD is designed to work with stock Glock triggers and aftermarket trigger components that do NOT alter pre-travel. This part has been developed by LANGDON TACTICAL TECHNOLOGY, INC. “GLOCK” is a federally registered trademark of GLOCK, Inc. and is one of many trademarks owned by GLOCK, Inc. or GLOCK Ges.m.b.H. Was advised years ago by a conceal trainer I should get SCD for my Every Day Carry Glock43... & must it's next level piece of mind (i.e., insurance against my butter fingers). Highly recommend for any Glock, but especially an EDC positioned IWB.

    SCD

This device has helped us teach with the glock, and to encourage folks to train with their glocks and to practice holster technique. Having carried a glock as an officer for years, and using the holstering technique of thumb to the back of the slide, It's a natural motion to holster and gives me peace of mind when holstering a glock in an appendix holster. I'm showing it to clients multiple times each week. Thanks for producing it. Now for the large frame 10mm and 45acp glocks production so I can buy more.

I have SCDs installed in G19s and G48s. They work as advertised and give that extra added piece of safety to the process of re-holstering you pistol.

    One of my carry essentials

I love this thing, and have it on both my Glock 43 and 43X. I like the extra safety it gives during reholstering and administrative handling. One reason I carry Glocks is that I don't want a fully pre-cocked striker, and this Striker Control Device lets me take advantage of that and treat the gun similarly to a traditional DA gun, placing my thumb on the SCD like I would on a DA hammer. I'm super happy that Langdon started manufacturing these, and the only change I'd wish for is for them to bring back the SCD for the Glock 42.

Added the device to my 43x and 43x clone. Definitely enjoy the DA feature and additional safety for my Glock pistols. Can’t wait to see new colors in the future.
