LTT Heat Shield with Labyrinth Cable Management

The LTT Heat Shield with Labyrinth Cable Management comes packed with features to make your Beretta 1301 Tactical, A300 Ultima Patrol, Mossberg 500 or 590, and Remington 870 an even better defensive shotgun. The heat shield is completely free-floated from the barrel, ventilated, and manufactured from a tough nylon polymer, to make sure that your hand is protected from heat even after hundreds of rounds.

The Heat Shield also features the new Modular Switch Mount system so you can attach any popular weapon light remote switch to the forend of your shotgun in exactly the place you want it without using adhesives, zip ties, or screws. 

Finally, The LTT Heat Shield features the patent-pending Labyrinth Cable Management system that allows you to neatly manage the wires that connect your remote switch to the weapon light without tools to prevent them from snagging or getting damaged. Labyrinth allows you to manage any cable length, and also provides added texture for a more secure grip on the shotgun.

Modular Switch Mount

LTT’s Modular Switch Mounts work in conjunction with LTT Heat Shield to integrate weapon light remote switches onto your defensive shotgun. The Modular Switch Mounts are completely ambidextrous, low profile, and can be repositioned along the forend of the shotgun to suit a wide range of shooters and techniques. The tongue and groove interface is incredibly robust and resistant to harsh impact and recoil. The Modular Switch Mounts are NOT COMPATIBLE with LTT Heat Shield for the Midwest Industries rail.

Beretta Patrol Forend and LTT Heat Shield Installation Instructions:

1. First, remove the barrel clamp and unscrew the magazine tube cover from your shotgun. Hold the magazine tube cover so that it doesn’t spring away from you if the internal magazine tube cap has been removed. 
2. Remove your handguard
3. Install the drill jig onto your LTT heat shield, making sure that the arrow points toward the front of the heat shield. 
4. Seat the heat shield flush on top of the handguard, making sure that the front hooks and recoil lugs are fully seated, and that there are no gaps between the heat shield and handguard. 
5.  Use the supplied #19 short drill bit to carefully drill both holes. For your safety, do not place your hand in the path of the drill bit. 
6. Remove the jig and install both metal tabs 
7. Re-install the handguard, magazine tube cover, and barrel clamp 
8. Place the heat shield on top of the handguard, making sure that the metal tabs stay fully seated and line up with the holes you drilled 
9. Using the T25 Torx driver, install both ¼ long 10-32 screws and torque to 25 in/lbs 
10. Thread locker is not necessary because the nylon material of the handguard is sufficient to resist vibratory loosening of the screws 
11. If the screws continue to spin when they are fully inserted into the handguard, wedge the inserts on the outside edge to tip them towards the screws. Then tighten and torque as normal.

Midwest Industries Forend and LTT Heat Shield Installation Instructions:

Installation:

1. Remove your barrel clamp.
2. Place the two front hooks under the front lip of the rail
3. Rotate the heat shield down, gently prying the recoil lugs apart. Slide the recoil lugs over the rail until they pop into the rearmost MLOK slots on either side.
4. Re-install your barrel clamp.

Removal:

1. Remove your barrel clamp
2. Remove any wires that are routed through the Labyrinth (they will hold the heat shield on as you try to remove it).
3. Using your fingers or the rim of a shotgun shell, pry one of the recoil lugs out of the rearmost MLOK slot.
4. Using the rim of a shotgun shell, pry out the second recoil lug.

Magpul Zhukov Forend Modified by GG&G and LTT Heat Shield Installation Instructions:

Installation:

1. If you are using a Modular Switch Mount, attach it before installation.
2. Slide the two front locking tabs under the front of the Zhukov handguard until the rear of the heat shield nose fits flush with the front of the Zhukov handguard.
3. Lift the left recoil lug and rest it on the exterior of the handguard above the rear MLOK slot.
4. Lift the right recoil lug and snap it into it's MLOK slot.
5. Snap the left recoil lug into place.

Removal:

1. Lift one recoil lug out of it's MLOK slot with your fingers.
2. Use the rim of a shotgun shell to pry the other recoil lug out of it's slot and pop the rear of the heat shield up and away from the handguard.
3. A slight upward rotation should disengage the front locking tabs. If it does not, depress them with a small punch.

The LTT Heat Shield for the Mossberg 500/590 and Remington 870 takes the features that you love from our 1301 Tactical and A300 Ultima Patrol heat shields and brings them to the two most popular pump-action shotguns on the market. As with all our heat shields, the LTT Pump Action Heat Shield is completely free-floated from the barrel, ventilated, and manufactured from a tough nylon polymer, to make sure that your hand is protected from heat even after hundreds of rounds. 

The heat shield attaches directly to the Magpul MOE forend without tools and features our patent-pending Labyrinth Cable Management system that allows you to neatly manage the wires that connect your remote switch to the weapon light without tools to prevent them from snagging or getting damaged. Labyrinth allows you to manage any cable length and provides texture for a more secure grip on the shotgun. 

The Labyrinth texture also allows you to attach our new line of Labyrinth Texture Accessories, including our Labyrinth Switch Mounts (sold separately). Labyrinth Switch Mounts let you attach many popular weapon light remote switch to the forend of your shotgun exactly where you want it without using adhesives, zip ties, or screws. NOTE: The Pump Action Heat Shields are not compatible with short-barreled shotguns that have barrel porting. Full-length ported shotguns and non-ported short barreled shotguns are compatible.
