    Hammer springs

I like to tinker cars and guns. I like to know what I am doing though. I have had D springs for ages. Even had a few 'comp' springs. But now we have springs w/ actual ratings so there is no guessing what I am doing and just hoping for a change. W/ my 92G I tried a 14#, better than a D. Then a 13#, better than a 14. Then a 12#, better than 13 but had some light strikes so back to the 13#. Installed an Elite II hammer and could then use a 12# w/o light strikes. I am really impressed that these springs are exactly what they are rated at and I get the change I expect when I change a spring. I know just enough about manufacturing to know that getting repeatable results from changes of less than 10% from one spring to the next requires real quality workmanship.
