- The 'Solid' option is a metal guide rod.
Works for the 9mm.
The .45 guns use a different spring.

PX4 metal recoil spring assembly
I've had the PX4 Storm full size 9mm for about 5 years now. I've never had a problem with the basic stock spring assembly, but I've wanted to get the metal one for a while. I've shopped around and this was what I wanted at a very good price.
