The GG&G 1301 Side Saddle utilizes a solid rubber shell retainer versus a rubber tube shell retainer with side walls. This side saddle does require a break-in, which involves inserted and removing shells a few times to 'grease' the rings.

You can tell this is a quality product, not too heavy but not cheap feeling, either. The shells I'm using aren't as snug, but they hold. Solid fit, but I have the pistol grip version of the 1301 and there is a slight gap between the trigger guard and pistol grip due to the spacer needed.
Nice side saddle. A little heavy. It only gets four stars because it should be an eight-shot.
